Twillingate has long been proclaimed as the Iceberg Capital of the World. If one of those mammoth giants is out there, you are more apt to see an iceberg here in Twillingate than anywhere else on the island.
These glacial monsters lumber slowly through Iceberg Alley at the whimsy of wind and wave and tide. From the coast of Labrador to the northern coast of Newfoundland, they move through the corridor of ocean that runs from Greenland, carried along in the cold Labrador current.
Seeing an iceberg is magical. It moves you.
